Insert hype-up descriptors here. Plain and simple, Great Apes are a new punk band from San Francisco. Minimalism reigns. Play it fast, play it loud, and make it stick. While we all have been or are in an array of more complex projects, this band is founded on pop-sensible simplicity and the notion that music, much like a bio, is often at its finest when it’s spit out intensely, with concision and honesty.
In April of 2012 we recorded this track with Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden in East Palo Alto, California. This track, along with another that Jack engineered and mixed, will be released on an upcoming compilation.

I always feel like I'm missing something / a bird on a sill / gotta get my interaction and my thrills / staring out to sea on a web pulling everywhere at once / gotta get my hunger fed out on the hunt / I want to live one thousand times / I want to be you / gotta get myself unstuck / gotta come unglued / so full of bread and circus / it's such a bore / I was built for action / built for more / we get wild to normalize / we shake to stabilize / here comes the panic / the self-inflicted still / it chills / it kills / all our free will / we're bound to ground / with eyes in the sky / we're never ever satisfied / constant / we yearn / submission / we've learned / this nest was meant to burn / predictable / to ignore the pull / these paper cages / your scissor breath /
